Investiture Location

The site of the investiture is Saint John Episcopal Church, 1525 H St NW, Washington, DC 20005. Called the "Church of the Presidents," every sitting president has attended the church at least once since it was built in 1816, starting with James Madison. With the exception of Richard Nixon, every president since Franklin D. Roosevelt has attended spiritual services on Inauguration Day, many at St. John's. Gala Dinner Location

The gala dinner is located at the Army and Navy Club, 901 17th St NW, Washington, DC 20006. The Club is one of the tallest buildings in Washington, and is one of the oldest private libraries in the District of Columbia. The library has close to 20,000 volumes and provides an outstanding source of information on military history and the latest news. To view more, visit: https://www.armynavyclub.org/.

October 7, Friday:
  • Arrive
  • 3 PM: National Portrait Gallery Tour (8th St NW & G St NW, Washington, DC 20001) . Ends at 5. Rain or Shine.
    • Group leaves from hotel lobby at 2:30.
  • 7 PM: Commander's Reception. Fire and Sage (in Marriott Hotel - 775 12th St NW, Washington, D.C. 20005)
    • Attire: Business casual. St. Joachim Lapel Insignia.
October 8, Saturday:
  • 10:30 AM: Brunch at Old Ebbitt Grill (675 15th St NW, Washington, DC 20005). Departing from hotel lobby at 10:15.
    • Attire: Business casual. St. Joachim Lapel Insignia.
  • 1:30 PM: Investiture at St. John's Episcopal Church (1525 H St NW, Washington, DC 20005).
    • Ceremony ends at 3:30 PM; Photos to follow in Church and in Lafayette Park.
    • Attire: Formal (White Tie, St. Joachim Uniform, Mess Kit or Highland Dress, Formal Suit with St. Joachim            Regalia, Medals and Decorations. Women appropriate to men). 
  • 6:00-9:00 PM: Gala Reception and Dinner at Army and Navy Club (901 17th St NW, Washington, DC 20006).
    • 6:00-7:00 Cocktails and Passed Hors d'oeuvres in Ballroom
    •  7:00-9:00 Sit down dinner to follow.
      • Dinner Choices: Chicken Napoleon or Salmon. Silent Vegetarian option.
    • Attire: Formal (White Tie, St. Joachim Uniform, Mess Kit or Highland Dress, Formal Suit with St. Joachim                                     Regalia, Medals and Decorations. Women appropriate to men). 
October 9, Sunday:
  • 10:30 AM: Tour the Smithsonian National Museum of American History (10th St. & Constitution Ave. NW, Washington, D.C. 20560). Rain or Shine.
    • Meet in hotel lobby at 9 AM for a walk to the National Mall.  Weather permitting, we will walk past the Washington Monument, the World War II Memorial and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial on our way to the Museum of American History.
  • 12:30 PM: Lunch at TBD.
    • Attire: Business casual. St. Joachim Lapel Insignia.
  • 1:30 PM: Depart.
